Bourbon Street (French: Rue Bourbon) is a street in the heart of New Orleans’ oldest neighborhood, the French Quarter, in New Orleans, Louisiana. While it is now primarily known for its bars and strip clubs, Bourbon Street’s history provides a rich insight into New Orleans’ past. Because of its high- ground location in the French Quarter, Bourbon Street did not suffer too much of the impact of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. In few words, one cannot visit New Orleans without spending time in the French Quarter and enjoy all the live attractions of bars, restaurants, souvenir shops and strip clubs to name only these. I would be remiss if I don’t mention that the taste of New Orleans culinary food is simply out of this world.
