Nuestra Senora Reina de Los Angeles Church, California

Nuestra Señora Reina de los Ángeles Asistencia was originally founded in early 1784 within the burgeoning Pueblo de Los Ángeles as an asistencia (or “sub-mission”) to the nearby Mission San Gabriel Arcángel. The assistant mission fell into disuse over time and a Catholic chapel, La Iglesia de Nuestra Señora Reina de los Ángeles, was constructed in its place a mere thirty years later.
An interesting fact about this church is the very affordable and easy requirements it offers for baptism ritual. When I was visiting the church, a lengthy line in the courtyard was evident for people who were awaiting their turns in order to have their family members of any ages go through the ceremony. This church does not discriminate, period.
